5 Places to Hang a Wreath Besides Your Front Door

When most people think about wreaths, they immediately picture a beautiful wreath hanging on a front door. While that’s certainly a classic choice, wreaths can be used throughout your home to add color, texture, and seasonal charm.

If you’re looking for fresh wreath decorating ideas, here are five places to hang a wreath besides your front door.

1. Above a Fireplace Mantel

A fireplace mantel is one of my favorite places to display a wreath. Whether you choose a seasonal wreath filled with fall florals or a simple greenery wreath, it instantly becomes a focal point in the room.

Decorating with wreaths above a mantel helps draw the eye upward and creates a finished look without requiring a lot of additional decor. It’s an easy way to update your home throughout the year with seasonal wreaths for spring, summer, fall, or Christmas.

2. In a Breakfast Room or Dining Area

A wreath isn’t just for entryways. Hanging a wreath in a breakfast room or dining area adds warmth and personality to a space where family and friends gather.

I love using wreaths as wall decor because they add visual interest without taking up valuable table space. A wreath can complement your tablescape, coordinate with seasonal decorations, or simply add a touch of color to the room.

One of the things I love most about using a wreath in a breakfast room is how easy it is to change the look of the space throughout the year. A simple wreath swap can help transition your decor from spring to summer, fall, or the holidays without redecorating the entire room.

3. On Interior Doors

One of the most overlooked wreath display ideas is hanging a wreath on an interior door. Home offices, pantry doors, laundry rooms, and even double doors can become beautiful decorating opportunities.

Adding a wreath to an interior door is an easy way to carry seasonal decor throughout your home and make everyday spaces feel a little more special.

4. Above a Buffet, Sideboard, or Console Table

A wreath displayed above a buffet or console table can help anchor the entire space. This placement works especially well in dining rooms, entryways, and living rooms.

Pairing a wreath with lamps, greenery, candles, or family photos creates a welcoming vignette that can be updated throughout the year.

5. In a Window

Windows aren’t just for holiday decorating. A wreath hung in a window can add charm and character both inside and outside your home.

Whether you choose a spring floral wreath, a patriotic wreath, or a holiday design, window wreaths create a beautiful focal point and help tie your seasonal decor together.

Final Thoughts

When it comes to decorating with wreaths, don’t limit yourself to the front door. Wreaths can be displayed throughout your home to add seasonal style, color, and personality to every room.

From fireplace mantels and breakfast rooms to interior doors and windows, there are countless ways to incorporate wreaths into your year-round home decor.
